Addiction and Codependence in Marriage, with Special Guest Robin RIley

Alcohol and substance abuse are detrimental to a marriage.
The amount of stress, familial distress, anger, resentment, dysfunctional communication, financial strain, interruption of healthy family dynamics, and negative mental health affects that alcoholism brings to a marriage is hard to quantify. However, statistics point to alcohol abuse leading to an increase in divorce rates by at least 20%.
With estimates showing that between 10% to up to 45% of marriages in the United States are impacted by alcoholism, this is a problem that the Church must address.
In addition to the destructiveness of dealing with an addiction in marriage, if co-dependence is present, the situation is further complicated.
Listen as Robin Riley discusses how she was confronted with her own co-dependence as she faced alcohol abuse in her marriage, and how recognizing it led to not only her own freedom, but her husband's as well.
In this episode, you will hear from a believer who clung to the Promises of God, sought community support, and ultimately fought for and found recovery and redemption in her marriage.

Offenses Will Come

In the world today, there is an opportunity around every corner to become offended. Our culture's climate is ripe with reasons to be disillusioned and disappointed every single day. Add on situations that arise in relationships, both causal and intimate, that leave us feeling upset and wounded, and you see that what author and Bible-teacher John Bevere calls "the Bait of Satan", is just waiting for you to hold.
Jesus tells us in Luke 17:1 that it is impossible that no offenses should come, but what we do when faced with offense will be a determining factor in our spiritual, emotional, mental, and even physical health.

Living in Light of the Resurrection

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the single most important event in human history. Because Jesus defeated death, hell, and the grave, we too can have victory in this life. Once a believer realizes that the same power that rose Jesus from the grave dwells within them, they become a powerful force for all that is good and true in the kingdom of God.
As believers, we may publicly celebrate Easter once a year, but we can choose to live in light of the resurrection every single day.
